Growing Old, But Never Slowing Down
Singapore is one of the fastest-ageing countries and is projected to become a super-aged society by 2026, with 21% of the population aged 65 and above. According to the findings of the WiSE study conducted by the Singapore Institute of Mental Health, the prevalence of depression among the elderly in Singapore is about 5.5%. Depression is often a result of psychological stress caused by various factors, such as changes in the social circle and a decline in mental and physical strength.
